A Window for Women

It is a privilege to talk with you about the Word of God via this addition to our new Website. Perhaps I should introduce myself by telling you a bit about myself; however, the main purpose of this “window” will be to glorify the Lord and encourage our hearts together in His Word.

This page provides things of interest to single women, wives, mothers, and widows. Books and other materials are highlighted. Visit the Window for Women Blog Website for the 4-part story of Mrs. Whitcomb's life.

Biosketch of Norma Whitcomb

Norma Whitcomb is a homemaker, a dedicated contributor to her husband’s ministry and to Whitcomb Ministries.  She was a former elementary and junior high school teacher; and a missionary and Bible College teacher for eleven years in the Philippines.  She is a Bible teacher and seminar speaker to ladies in the U. S. and abroad.

Mrs. Whitcomb graduated from Houghton College with a B. A. degree majoring in Christian education.  She also graduated from Emporia State University with an M. S. degree in educational psychology and completed a teaching degree in art.

Having been reared in a Christian home, she accepted Christ as a young child and from then on enjoyed a musical ministry with her family.

Norma has been a versatile lady who has enjoyed oil painting, hostessing, tennis, ministering to widows and several creative activities.  She is by her husband’ side in his ministry.  Her passion is the study and ministry of God’s Word to women.

Her 4½ star-rated book, Those Mysterious Dinosaurs, in eleven languages, as well as the accompanying activity book, is widely used to present biblical and scientific truth to children.  Two co-authored cookbooks and a Family Caring and Sharing 4-part series are other accomplishments.

Mrs. Whitcomb has a God-honoring testimony that tells of her years as a missionary in the Philippines, her widowhood, her marriage to Dr. John C Whitcomb, a widower, and subsequent experiences that have drawn her closer to her heavenly Father Who does all things well.  Her life verse is, “I can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens me” (Phil 4:23).

When Norma and Dr. John said “I do” on January 1, 1971, their blended families gave them six children, ages 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16.  They now have seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Norma has said, “I did not leave the mission field, I changed mission fields!’
